Meet Our Instructors

Bob Ragsdale

Lead Instructor

Bob has been a beekeeper for 14 years, and an LBA instructor for 8 years. He is passionate about teaching new beekeepers and educating them on good beekeeping practices. Bob's interest in beekeeping has led him to work with a number of hive styles, to include Top Bar and Slovenian.

Matt Gaillardetz

Adjunct Instructor
Matt is not only an instructor, but a former student of the Beginning Beekeeping Course, as well.  He participated in the 2007 class, and quickly became an integral member of Loudoun Beekeepers Association (LBA).  Matt is a past LBA President, and is well known in the Loudoun County area for his local honey and bee production.

Todd Soos

Adjunct Instructor
Todd is also a former class participant (class of 2008) and is an LBA past President. Todd is the LBA Outreach and Education Coordinator, and has grown his apiaries to become a local honey and bee producer.

Scott Rutt

Assistant Instructor
Scott returned to beekeeping after having kept them as a teenager in PA. He has been keeping bees in Loudoun County and is a honey supplier.

Bill Bundy

Course Advisor

Bill's history with honeybees and the Loudoun Beekeepers Association (LBA) is long and storied. He has been keeping bees for 30+ years, and taught the Beginning Beekeeping Course for 17 years. Bill's knowledge of honeybees is exceptionally vast, and he is a leading local expert in beekeeping. 

In addition, he is a past President of LBA, and also served a term as the Virginia State Beekeepers Association (VSBA) President. Bill has been a major producer of local honey and bees for many years.
