The LBA Beginner Beekeeping Course is open to adults and children (age 10+) who are interested in learning how to keep honey bees. This course covers all aspects of beekeeping, including the equipment you'll need to get started, the development of your colony over the first year and how to be successful as you progress into subsequent years.
This 7-week class meets at the historic Old Stone School in Hillsboro, VA. It begins with an open house on Saturday, January 30, 2027 from 10am-12pm, then meets weekly on Saturday mornings from 8am-10am from February 6, 2027 through March 30, 2027. Tuition includes a FREE one-year membership to Loudoun Beekeepers Association (LBA), access to dedicated discussion forums on the LBA website, the assignment of a beekeeping mentor for your first season (optional and dependent on your location) and a hands-on field day at a local apiary. Family members may attend classes. Space is limited, register today.
